Jumping in is probably the best way to go about flower farming, I didn’t realize every aspect of what I was undertaking. My dream of being a florist was the last thing left that I wanted to do, after studying architecture, making buildings in NYC, designing and installing green roofs and landscaping that restores wildlife habitat and the native plants that support the wildlife. Now, to create art with flowers… the most pure expression of love for the earth. Once the idea of flowers was introduced I couldn’t imagine not growing them myself. This would ensure that they were not treated with chemicals, and that they would be grown locally, with best practices. Of course, this is exactly what I wanted. It’s also the first time I had my own garden. I thought every florist grew their own flowers, I didn’t even question it and I’m glad that I took on all of it! Naturally, I grew native plants along with my cut flower garden and fell madly in love with how amazing it felt to be doing something I’ve dreamed about my whole life. Learning so much from these mountains and this beautiful earth. #nativeplants #nativeny #floraldesign #jumpin #liveyourdreams
